The Collector will manage, monitor, and collect repayment of all past due accounts greater than 15 days past due, identify the reason(s) why such account is not paid timely, and refer all past due accounts which cannot be resolved through timely repayment to Special Assets Support staff for possible resolution or eventual liquidation. Call each telephone number on file to reach customers regarding the status of their account. Work with the branches to gather any additional information regarding customer contact information. Conduct all activities within the guidelines of Company policy and federal and state regulations regarding debt collection. Accurately record all attempts to reach the customer as well as any resolution or agreement to pay from the customer. Participate in weekly Special Assets conference calls. Send the appropriate letter(s) to the customer via U.S. mail when contact by phone is unsuccessful.


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of customer-facing experience
  • Problem resolution experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Ability to effectively utilize computer technology with proficiency in all software applications utilized by First Community Bank
  • Ability to sit in front of a computer for extended periods of time
